What Kind of Marketer Are You? |
You may think that viral emails have had their day, but a simple execution for Chilli Marketing proves otherwise. Chilli wanted to highlight their services as well as their new website (proudly designed by us) and sent out a teasing email to a select group of friends and customers. The What Kind of Marketer Are You email was sent as a text-only email linking to a microsite where users answered a series of questions to determine their type. Who are you? (Incidentally, I'm a shark ...) |

Tui? Kereru? Albatross? Vote Now! |
There's not just a general election going down you know. Go and get voting for NZ's native bird of the year at the redeveloped Forest & Bird website, launched earlier this month. Highly taxonomy-driven (classifying the content so that it displays in multiple places and is cross-referenceable), this Drupal content managed website allows site administrators to easily maintain and manage the whole site - including banners, forms and maps. Did you know you can rent a cottage on Waiheke Island right next to a native forest reserve for only ninety bucks a night? And that Forest and Bird were pivotal in the fight to ban set netting on Mauis dolphins? And that Forest and Bird don't get a bean from the government and rely totally on donations? Here's what you can do in 5 minutes - join, donate, signup for e-newsletters. Here's what you can do in 20 minutes - write a letter to your MP banning shark finning, look at these ways to save the Mokihini Dam, make a submission on behalf of sea lions, have a moan, ask a question or celebrate a success over at the blog. You can make a difference - join Forest & Bird and be part of the greater good. Psssst .. the bird on the right is a kea.

First Home Buyers Look Here |
A brilliant new scheme from Housing New Zealand has already seen one young Auckland couple get into their first home. A large part of the information and communications toolkit to inform and educate people about the scheme was the Shared Equity Scheme website , built and designed by us in partnership with Chilli Marketing. The site is fully content managed on the open source Drupal platform, includes a step-by-step guide through the application and approval process and a very useful quick links section to assist with navigation. Advertising online with a series of animated banners and tiles has raised the profile of the site further. If you are looking to buy your first home in an area where house prices are out of reach, why don't you apply? |

Aw, Shucks! |
If you are never sure as to what is on in downtown Wellington, where to get the best cocktails, what is being served up at a Cuba St restaurant or where the coolest frocks are, then you've never been to the Texture website then. And not only is it the hangout of the very coolest (I'm only in because I said I'd cut off the server if they wouldn't let me be a member) but it is also a winning website too, being honoured in the recent USA W3Awards in the Entertainment category. Little old Texture from little old Wellington was up there with the big guns from Heineken, Wired, Estee Lauder, Monster.com etc and big ups to Tina and Jamie from Positively Wellington Tourism who continually support and drive the site forward, and to our team for making it so great. Check out the funniest tourism video ever for Wellington here too. |

You Can't Beat Wellington on a Good Day |
So the saying goes, and this Saturday the Lions will be fighting it out for the NPC crown, with those one-eyed, lying all over the ball, slowing the play down deliberately ref, did you see how offside they are - Cantabrians. And while we can't claim we designed and built Westpac Stadium itself, we are delighted to have done the virtual version. Featuring upcoming events, seating plans, the stadium anthem (honest, there is one) and all sorts of facts regarding its construction and capacity, the site is fully content managed and easy to administer. Fancy hiring the All Blacks changing room for a staff function? What about a wedding replayed on the big screen? And if you lost your phone/glasses/wallet/girlfriend at the Sevens, you can enquire here. |

New Faces |
Introducing (from L to R) Drew Broadley, Amber Haley and Tom Grinsted, three of the newer faces at Breathe. Drew is a developer, Amber a project manager and Tom a graphic designer, and all based in our Wellington office. These three are core members of the office hackey team, with this photo taken just after Amber was knocked out in round one of a recent event and forced to become the coffee slave for a week. Milk and one thanks Amber. |

Broken English |

Many of you will know that Jan Thomas, one of our fearless German project managers was knocked off his bike last Friday, seriously shattering his arm and undergoing extensive surgery. We are pleased to report that Jan is recovering well at home, and although we are pleading otherwise, he is managing to reply to the odd email. He insists he was on the correct side of the road at the time, was not under influence and wasn't looking at the girl in the short red skirt at the time .... |
